Players receiving a copy of a game prior to release is nothing new, with certain retailers often dispatching physical copies early by mistake. This has been the case already for Middle-earth: Shadow of War, with some players posting images, such as the one below, of their prematurely released copies online as proof.
As stated, situations like this are nothing new, but there has been a rather strange occurrence in another case in which a player has gained access to the highly anticipated sequel with a digital copy. Reddit user Frackbird has managed to stream the game, after claiming that they purchased the game on a North American Xbox One through gamesharing.
Based in Canada, Frackbird provided the following video clip as proof, which as a consequence saw the user being suspended by Twitch for streaming the game on the platform. This was shut down before Frackbird could answer questions in the live chat, though there has been a number of questions posted to them over on the source of the video.
An early physical copy of the game wouldn’t be something of any interest, though seeing footage of the actual game is always exciting to see with just under a week until release. How this may of occurred is unknown, though I imagine it is going to spark many others in a similar situation to try and gain access to Shadow of War nice and early.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is set to launch early next week on October 10th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
