With the release of Destiny 2 on PC, there is bound to be a number of players who want to discuss how well the game works on that particular platform. This has been a topic of discussion among those who own the sequel on PC, and what PC features can be used to enhance the experience. This can be done so with the use of the new Geforce 388.31 GPU drivers from Nvidia, which aims to increase the game’s performance by 53%.
For example, PC Gamer tested the game’s beta back in August, where they found that Bungie had indeed been true to their word on delivering an experience worthy to the PC platform. Since then, the likes of AMD, NVidia and Bungie have all worked on bringing even better optimizations to its performance, despite them only being minor improvements. There is a lot to be said for the GTX 1080 TI mind, which saw performance improvements of up to 20%, though it is worth noting that this was only at 1080p-1440p that was in a few percent of the test results from the beta, which was pretty much matched by 4K.
Players on Reddit have also chimed in with their findings, with one post stating that there are certain areas on Titan which still had issues, particularly in the section in front of the church within the EDZ, though this could well be an issue that will be patched by Bungie in the future. Stability increases also seem to be the order of the day, depending on what kind of rig you have, though the general consensus seems to be that Bungie has made good on their promise of a positive visual experience on PC.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
