Warframe is a free-to-play third-person shooter set in a sci-fi universe. As is common with most free-to-play titles, Warframe regularly updates the game with new events to keep players engaged. Today, they released Ambulas Reborn, and you can watch the release trailer right here.
This very 80s trailer doesn’t give you many details, but it sure is fun! Basically, in Ambulas Reborn, players will help the Perrin Sequence leader, Ergo Glast, to defeat Frohd Bek, who plans to unleash a dangerous new Ambulas prototype on the world (for a profit). A post from the devs on the official Warframe forums gives players all the details, but we’ll run through everything quickly here as well.
You job as a players is to collect as many Animo Beacons as possible. They can be found, at varying quantities, during Corpus 1″open-air surfaces” once you’ve defeated an Ambulas. Depending on whether you are a solo player or in a clan, a certain amount of these Animo Beacons are needed to defeat the final boss on the Hades node on Pluto. Once defeated, players will receive a Supra Vandal as payment for their good deed.
There are, however, rewards other than the weapon. The Animo Beacons you collect can be exchanged for things like sigils, noggles, and new and returning syndicate mods. Also clans, as always, can choose to compete for trophies and experience by collecting mass amounts of Animo Beacons.
While there is currently no word on when console players will receive the update, the Warframe Ambulas Reborn event begins on PC today and ends May 11th at 2pm EST. If you are interested in participating, you can download Warframe for free on the official website. If you already play Warframe, will you be participating in this event?Let us know in the comments!
