Final Fantasy XV, after a number of delays, will finally release next week. Development for the game started back in 2006, when Final Fantasy XV was revealed as a PS3 exclusive title named Final Fantasy XIII. It was set to form a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy subseries, until the project’s large scale led to the decision of making it the next big Final Fantasy release. Details on the game following its re-branding to Final Fantasy XV were somewhat sporadic, leading some to believe that the game had been cancelled back in 2012.
A demo later appeared last year named Episode Duscae, which came as a pre-order bonus with early digital and physical copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Following teaser after teaser regarding its release date (or release year for that matter), it was finally revealed at the “Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV” event in Los Angeles that the game would release on September 30th, 2016. However, in order to apply further polish to FFXV and to try and avoid a Day One patch so people could dive into the adventure straight away, the release date was delayed until November 29th.
Since then, we’ve learnt that Final Fantasy XV will indeed have a Day One patch. Whilst this may bring the most recent delay into question, there will be some neat additions with said patch, of which you can see details of here.
Final Fantasy XV will release next week on Tuesday, November 29th on PS4 and Xbox One.
