Hearthstone fans know the feeling when a vicious Maiev first plays that Caverns Below quest on the first turn. Worry no more as a substantial edit has been made to that card in order to encourage more variety among prominent meta-decks. Changing the minion requirement on this quest from four minions to five may seem small, but in the grand scheme of things, the new Hearthstone update actually offers quite a bit extra in terms of what resources are required in order to complete the quest.
This wasn’t the only change brought by our wonderful update. Some Hearthstone balance changes and Hearthstone Arena changes have been made as well. These are simply a reduction in the frequency upon which certain cards appeared. A prime example of this is the much hated Vicious Fledgling. This 3-drop card is powerful in constructed play, but in the competitive scene it’s almost unbeatable by nature without some strong area of effect spells.
As of this update, according to MMOExaminer.com, Knights of the Frozen Throne packs are now available for pre-purchase as well. Buying the big bonus pre-order will (as always) give the player a brand new exclusive card back.
Also, several cards have now been categorized as Elementals. This includes Jade Spirit, Djinni of Zephyrs, Flame of Azzinoth, Mana Geode, and Hallazeal, the Ascended.
Finally, the Hearthstone update included a few very minor bug fixes, including a bug in which Hearthstone would freeze when closing out. Hopefully more reveals for the Hearthstone changes in the newest expansion are on the way, but in the meantime, these adjustments will no doubt shake the meta in a very interesting way leading up to the Frozen Throne.
