As we reported a few days back, The ESO Jesters Festival event was released today, March 23rd. If you’ve logged on today you’ve probably noticed the massive influx of people crowded around major cities and are either extremely confused, or part of the chaos yourself. This article will serve as a sort of guide to the ESO Jester Festival so get comfortable, the merriment is about to commence!
First and foremost, the rewards. That’s what we’re all here for anyway, right? There will be a number of rewards that a player can receive during the ESO Jester Festival and they’re all randomly given out. While doing festival-related activities you might receive a number of items (including the Dubious Camoran Throne Recipe):
- Runebox: Cherry Blossom Branch
- Princess’ Delight Recipe
- Candied Jester’s Coins Recipe
- Dubious Camoran Throne Recipe
- Jewels of Misrule Recipe
- A new hat – The Crown of Misrule
- A host of fun new consumables
- New Jester’s Festival Housing items: Jester’s Large and Small Trees
- Jester’s Standard
So how do you receive these event-exclusive items? First, you must go to the crown store in game and pick up a free copy of the Jester’s Festival Invitation scroll. Then, make your way to the closest capital city to you – that being either Daggerfall for the Daggerfall Covenant, Ebonheart for the Ebonheart Pact, or Vulkhel Guard for the Aldmeri dominion. Outside the city gates, you will likely see a large crowd of people. Go towards that to locate your first jester who will give you one of three quests.
Quest #1: Springtime Flair (Aldmeri dominion)
Jester Queen Ayrenn will send you to “prank” grumpy temple stoics in Vulkhel Guard. Those you must prank will be highlighted with a white arrow so don’t go around trying to prank random citizens! Once you’ve done that the quest will send you to Skywatch to do the same to grumpy residents of that city. And finally, you will be sent to the Auridon mages college to prank professors. This, like the first quest, requires no combat.
Quest #2: Royal Revelry (Daggerfall Covenant)
In Daggerfall you will meet Jester King Emeric who will send you on a quest not too far from the city to collect Ayleid Bone Dust and Dragonfire Dust. For this part of the quest you should be prepared for combat. Once collected, you will return to the Jester King and he will create what he calls his “illusion dazzlers” which you will then be entrusted with. He will send you to three spots around Daggerfall to light them off among some merry celebrants.
Quest #3: A Noble Quest (Ebonheart)
Without spoilers, Jester King Joruun will send you to find his Princess and instruct you to bring her back to him. This is a simple and humorous quest that doesn’t require any kind of combat.
After each quest you will receive a Jester’s Festival Box which you can open to claim your aforementioned prizes. What you do with them is up to you, but if you plan on selling them, make sure you sell them while the market is hot! You can do each one of these quests once per day until the end of the event on the 4th of April so you’ve got plenty of time to get one of everything.
In addition to the free items you get from questing there will also be ESO Jesters Festival exclusive items available in the crown store for the duration of the event. Those include:
- Royal Court Jester Costume
- Bi-color Coxcomb Cap
- Ass-Ears Jester Cap
- The Jester Personality
And there you have it! That’s all you need to know about the ESO Jester Festival. If you’re anything like me and you participate in all the events then you’re probably excited for all of this exclusive content. Events like these make the MMORPG feel more lived in and it brings the community together in celebration. The event goes from March 23rd until April 4th at 14:00 GMT. Will you be playing?
