The war on an epic scale between Vampires, Ousters and Slayers rolls on in Dark Eden: Cataclysm, which is now available on Steam. Dark Eden tells the story of the three races who are battling for the possession of the ‘Bible of Blood’ to survive in the virtual European country of Eslania.
The free-to-play MMORPG Dark Eden combines modern horror fantasy with a middle-age theme, with a futuristic atmosphere thrown in for good measure. Players can choose between three races; Vampire, Slayer and Ousters to do battle with each other. Slay your way through siege warfare to gain control of enemy turf in strategic and offensive fashion, in a unique and dark twist on the genre.
There are notable differences in gameplay between each of the classes, depending on which you decide to go to war with. Whilst Vampires and Ousters use a level system, Slayers opt for a skill system, as well as each race having their own individual growth system and item configuration. In terms of the catalog of skills each class has to offer, Vampires and Ousters boast around 40 and 70 skills and spells respectively, whilst Slayers boast a slightly higher 100 of each.
The differences don’t stop there, as the day and night cycle not only affects the visual aspect of the game, with Vampires (unsurprisingly) becoming stronger at night, whilst Slayers and Ousters are more powerful in the day time. Other neat features include vehicles, allowing players to traverse the map in stylish and quick fashion. The vehicles and other means of conveyance available include a motorcycle, helicopter, bat and a warp tunnel.
