Since the beginning, there has been a name that has filled the ears of Overwatch fans: Doomfist. The Doomfist name was meant to be a throwaway villain to show how the Overwatch team had overcome certain Overwatch villains during their time. But, its legend grew, and it became so large that the team at Blizzard had to literally make the character to stem the desire for him. And so he came, and it was glorious. But, it was also buggy.
For while the character is one of the most popular and powerful characters in the game, Doomfist is also one of the characters that is the most bug-ridden and unbalanced. Fans have asked for fixes for a long time, and Blizzard has slowly but surely been trying to get them out. And now, a post on Battle.net has shed some insight into things on the character, and highlights what’s to come.
The team notes that the PTR was recently updated to fix some bugs concerning the character, and they’re going to continue trying to improve him as new bugs arise. Some things that have been fixed include his Wall Slamming ability, Rocket Slam now breaks things again, and Seismic Slam has had some noticeable things done to it too.
However, they acknowledge that there’s still a ways to go before Doomfist is completely fixed. Things like bugs with Seismic Slam, actually punching through an opponent without harming them, and bouncing opponents are concerns they are working on now.
There’s also some curious bugs and issues that Blizzard is working on these Overwatch changes, such as what happens when two Rocket Punches meet up with one another, what does it do?
Blizzard thanks you for all of your feedback, and asks that you keep giving it so that they know what to look for and can make Overwatch something fun and balanced all around.
