Blade & Soul is getting a new update on September 13, and it’s bringing quite a lot of system changes that we will be talking about. The Rise of the Gunslinger update will evidently add the Gunslinger class, but it will also alter the difficulty of some dungeons, and crafting recipes have also received some changes. New and returning players can now level up and get random rewards when they complete certain dungeons for the first time on their new characters. We will get more into the details down below.
Alliances will now be composed of two groups of 6 members. Due to this change, some dungeons (Midnight Skypetal Plains, Skybreak Spire, Dawn of Khanda Vihar, Temple of Eluvium, and Scion’s Keep) got a few updates to accommodate for the new alliance size. The crafting system was also changed to make it simpler to use.
Now, new and returning players with new characters will get rewarded for the first ten times that they complete some dungeons on Normal and Hard. Those dungeons are the Desolate Tomb, Ebondrake Citadel, Naryu Foundry, Naryu Sanctum, Irontech Forge, Ebondrake Lair. The rewards for completing these dungeons include Soul Shields, weapon boxes, XP charms, rare upgrade materials, and so on. Players will now also have a greater incentive to progress swiftly through the storyline as they will receive an Unrefined Scaleburn Weapon when they complete Act VII Chapter 1: The Mysterious Stranger. This allows you to get your hands on your first Legendary weapons easily, just by following the storyline.
Weapon and Soul upgrading got a lot of changes, so if you want a look at those, you can take a look at their Seraph/Baleful Upgrade Cost Changes spreadsheet.
Soul Shields will also now be more accessible in Blade & Soul, as the cost of the Locked Sacred Longgui Soul Shield Chests and the Sacred Longgui Keys got reduced. Also, you won’t have to complete achievements or use Moonlight Crystals to purchase them. By salvaging Legendary Soul Shields from Skybreak Spire, players will have a chance of getting a Raven Feather, and by salvaging Legendary Soul Shields from the Temple of Eluvium and Scion’s Keep you will have a chance of getting Hige Queen’s Wings.
